Morning Message of Motivation
The Mercy of God 18
By Rev. Robert Ampiah-Kwofi
God wants us to be merciful just as He is merciful. (Matthew 5:43-45)
Job was the richest man of his day.
Job 1:3 NKJV
“Also, his possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very large household, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the East.”
He suffered a series of satanic calamities that took away all his wealth in one day.
Again Satan attacked Job’s body with sore boils.
Job 2:7 NKJV
“So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.”
In his lowest state some friends came to him, initially to comfort him, but they soon became his greatest tormentors.
Job 16:2 NIV
“I have heard many things like these;
you are miserable comforters, all of you!”
Job denounced them as miserable comforters.
They added to his misery because they tried to prove to Job, that he deserved all the evils that Satan had put on him.
They called Job a wicked hypocrite and an evildoer.
They claimed God was punishing Job for his hidden sins.
However God is merciful.
He planned to do Job good at the end.
James 5:11 NKJV
“Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.”
The final ending planned by God was to restore Job totally and double his original wealth.
Job 42:12 NKJV
“Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.”
However God couldn’t implement His gracious ending for Job until Job acted in mercy towards his erring friends.
Matthew 5:7 KJV
“Blessed are the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy.”
Job 42:10 NKJV
“And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.”
May you also receive a full restoration of everything you ever lost.
May the Lord grant you a double-double compensation, in Jesus’ name.
