The Power of Truth 8
Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi
Abraham believed God’s word of promise.
It is important for your faith to be founded on the word of God.
Romans 4:18 NKJV
“Who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”
Abraham believed according to what was spoken by God.
Genesis 15:5 NKJV
“Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”
Abraham based his faith upon this exact Scripture.
True faith is inspired by the Word of God.
Romans 10:17 NKJV
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Abraham believed God, and God counted his faith as his righteousness.
Genesis 15:6 NIV
“Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.”
God afterwards spoke to Abraham concerning the land of Canaan.
Abraham was settled in faith concerning his descendants.
God wanted him to be settled in faith also concerning the land of Canaan, so He gave him another word.
Genesis 15:7 NIV
“He also said to him, “I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it.”
God brought Abraham to Canaan to take spiritual possession of the land. God didn’t give him physically even one plot of the land.
Acts 7:5 NIV
“He gave him no inheritance here, not even enough ground to set his foot on. But God promised him that he and his descendants after him would possess the land, even though at that time Abraham had no child.”
Faith enables you to possess a thing spiritually.
Afterwards it will manifest physically.
It worked for Abraham, and it will work for you.
Faith in God’s word will bring you possession.
Receive God’s blessings as you go to church.
