Morning Message of Motivation – Notable Sacrifices: 5

Morning Message of Motivation
Notable Sacrifices: 5
By Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi
Cain is actually famous for his misbehavior after the rejection of his sacrifice.
Cain’s uncontrolled anger made him evil.
God challenged Cain about his unjustified anger.
Genesis 4:6 NKJV
“So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?”
Cain was angry and depressed.
His anger was irrational.
Cain’s problem was very easy to solve.
Genesis 4:7 NKJV
“If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
Cain could easily fix the problem by doing what Abel had done.
God had demonstrated His clear favour on Abel’s sacrifice.
There was no doubt about the kind of sacrifice that God wanted.
God gave Cain a second chance.
God promised Cain, that if he did the right thing he would be accepted.
An evil spirit of murder was seeking to take control of Cain, but at that point in time, Cain could resist it.
Unfortunately, Cain yielded to the evil spirit.
Genesis 4:8 NKJV
“Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.”
Cain hated Abel without a cause.
Cain somehow blamed Abel for his own failures.
Jealousy and envy can be irrational.
Abel had demonstrated the right way to please God with a sacrifice.
Instead of learning from Abel, Cain rather killed him, but he failed to silence Abel.

Abel’s example continued to speak.
Hebrews 11:4: NKJV
“By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.”

Abel’s blood also continued to speak.
Genesis 4:10 NKJV
“And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.”
No weapon formed against you shall prosper.
May the Lord continue to magnify you as an example for many people, in Jesus’ name.
