Notable Sacrifices 25
By Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi
The greatest and most remarkable sacrifice of all human history is the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.
His sacrifice differs remarkably from all others.
Christ’s sacrifice was both a spiritual and a physical sacrifice.
Christ the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world.
Revelation 13:8 KJV
“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
The sacrifice of Christ was foreordained before the foundation of the world.
Christ was chosen by a divine decree to be a sacrifice, from the foundation of the world.
1 Peter 1:20 NKJV
“He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.”
God knew ahead of time that man would fall into sin, and He ordained from the beginning that Christ should die, as a sacrifice.
Christ’s sacrifice also did not originate from this earth.
All other sacrifices made on this earth, had an earthly origin.
Christ however was with the Father in heaven before His incarnation.
John 1:1 NKJV
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
The Word, became flesh and blood.
John 1:14 NKJV
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Christ needed to become flesh and blood, because His sacrifice was to benefit human beings.
Hebrews 2:14 NIV
“Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil.”
May the benefits of Christ’s sacrifice be showered abundantly on your life. Declare you’re redeemed now, in Jesus’ name.
