Sunday Pulpit Series
By Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi
Jeremiah’s prophetic ministry operated by visions and various prophetic instructions.
At times he would see a vision and God would give him the interpretation. That is how his ministry began.
Jeremiah 1:11 NKJV
“Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”
God said Jeremiah had seen the vision correctly.
The interpretation of the vision, was that God, would quickly perform His words.
Jeremiah 1:12 NKJV
“Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.”
At other times God gave Jeremiah particular prophetic instructions.
The word of the Lord would come to him after he carried out the instructions.
Jeremiah 18:1-2 NKJV
“The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying: “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there
I will cause you to hear My words.”
Jeremiah obeyed and went.
He saw a vessel go wrong in the potter’s hand.
Jeremiah 18:4 ESV
“And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do.”
He then observed the potter remold the same clay into another vessel.
This time the potter was pleased with his creation.
Then God’s word came to him.
Jeremiah 18:5-6 NKJV
“Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!”
Jeremiah received a very reassuring word.
If Israel cooperated with God, then He would mold their destiny into His appointed end.
May Jehovah mold your life into His appointed shape, as you go to church.
