Morning Message of Motivation
Christ our Redeemer: 21
By Rev Robert Ampiah-Kwofi
Abraham and Isaac left the servants and climbed to the top of Mount Moriah.
At the top of the mountain both father and son had to operate in faith and love.
Isaac was puzzled.
They had everything needed to make a sacrifice but no animal.
Genesis 22:7 NKJV
“But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” Then he said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”
Abraham spoke in faith, that God would provide a sacrifice for Himself.
Genesis 22:8 NKJV
“And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together.”
This prophetic statement of Abraham had both an immediate fulfillment and also a future fulfillment.
Immediately, God provided a ram caught in the thicket for Abraham to offer instead of Isaac.
Genesis 22:13 NKJV
“Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.”
Abraham’s prophetic word that God would provide a sacrifice for Himself was fulfilled that same day.
The spiritual fulfillment of the same word came through Jesus Christ, thousands of years later. John the Baptist spoke about God’s own sacrificial lamb.
John 1:29 NKJV
“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
John saw Jesus approaching, and began to prophesy concerning Him.
John described Christ as God’s own sacrifice.
May you receive the full benefit of God’s own sacrifice.
May God’s grace release His blessings into your life, in Jesus’ name.
